Carol Porter is a personal trainer who helps clients recognize and achieve their potential for optimal health and well-being. Her ultimate goal is to teach her clients to be their own trainers. Carol’s holistic training approach attracts people of all ages and abilities. By applying a wide range of training methods and techniques, she creates customized programs to meet clients’ needs, interests and long-term goals. The core emphasis of all her personalized programs is “mindful movement,” including the value of play to increases mental and sensory awareness of the physical body. Mindful control alignment and movement corrects postural imbalances and dysfunctional movement patterns. Through mindful focus on everyday actions such as pulling, pushing, lifting, balancing, hopping, stepping, twisting, bending and reaching, clients learn to move safely and efficiently. This naturally increases stability, flexibility, agility, endurance, and power. With the belief that play and enjoyment are vital aspects of our well-being, Carol keeps workouts interesting and fun.
Carol excels at helping people find their unrealized physical strength and inner reserves of power. In her experience, many people face lifelong physical, emotional or intellectual barriers that have kept them from achieving their health goals; others face health challenges due to illness. With intelligent and balanced training programs, Carol is able to empower her clients to meet their obstacles.
